There were rumours that an ancient tunnel existed beneath the pub connecting it to the old Friary and the church. According to Westerleigh locals, when excavations began for the foundations of the conservatory, builders discovered the remains of tunnelling work beneath the pub. For now, the tunnels are filled in, so we’ll have to imagine the goings-on in medieval Westerleigh!

Today, the ancient wooden beams and interior stone wall add to the warm and welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors to the Cotswolds. We are offering local ales, ciders and all the usual suspects on tap.
